ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION FROM GIRL SCOUT TROOP 14079
Background
Last summer, Girl Scout Troop 14079 raised money to help purchase a bullet proof vest for Blaine K9 Remy. Most of the money came from over 200 hours of participating in a craft sale and donation requests. Additionally, they even used funds from their personal accounts from cookie sale profits. This money was donated to the Blaine Public Safety Association for the vest purchase.
The City of Blaine may accept gifts for the benefit of its citizens in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor. Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that the City Council accept these gifts by resolution.
Recommendation
By motion, accept the donation and offer appreciation to Girl Scout Troop 14079 and for the Blaine Public Safety Association for facilitating this donation.

WHEREAS, the City of Blaine has received a donation of $500 from the Blaine Public Safety Association for a bullet proof K9 vest, and
WHEREAS, the Blaine City Council is appreciative of this donation,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Blaine City Council acknowledges and accepts the donation of $500 with gratitude.
