APPROVE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH T-MOBILE CENTRAL LLC ON TOWER NO. 1
Background
The attached agreement is an amended agreement for T-Mobile Central LLC to lease space on Water Tower No. 1 for wireless communication equipment. T-Mobile requested the amendment as their previous lease expired. The lease generally follows the League of Minnesota Cities’ model and has been reviewed and approved by the City Attorney. The lease is for five (5) years with four automatic five (5) year renewals, unless terminated by either party. The annual initial lease amount is $21,068.50 per each year (which will be prorated for 2016). This amount will increase 4% annually through the term of the agreement. Council’s approval of the agreement is recommended.
Recommendation
By motion, approve Resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, T-Mobile Central LLC desires to maintain a communications facility on a City of Blaine water tower as described in the agreement; and
WHEREAS, T-Mobile Central LLC will enter into an Agreement with the City of Blaine to utilize a Blaine water tower, and
WHEREAS, the Agreement has been reviewed by staff and the City Attorney and is recommended for approval by the Blaine City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Blaine City Council as follows:
1. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a lease agreement with T-Mobile Central LLC pertaining to the use of the Blaine water tower site at 9150 Central Avenue NE.
