ACCEPT THE SITE FURNISHINGS FOR LEGACY CREEK PARK PROPOSED BY MINNESOTA/WISCONSIN PLAYGROUND AT A COST NOT TO EXCEED $20,000.
Background
The playground equipment for the Legacy Creek Park was approved by City Council last month and staff has currently received the estimate for the site furnishings commonly installed in our new neighborhood parks. Staff used US Communities Government Alliance purchasing and have chosen furnishing from GameTime and supplied by Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground.
The site furnishing are 16' metal picnic shelter, 2 park benches, bike rack, 2 picnic tables 2 dome top trash receptacles, 1 basketball standard and hoop. The budgeted amount for these furnishings is not to exceed $20,000 and includes furnishings, installation and associated costs. A neighborhood meeting was conducted with the Park Board to review the site and furnishings. The Park Board then recommended the Legacy Creek Park site plan and furnishings.
This cost is part of the Legacy Creek Park budget proposed in the 2012 Capital Improvement Program for Parks.
Recommendation
By motion, recommend the City Council accept the site furnishings for Legacy Creek Park proposed by Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground at a cost not to exceed $20,000. .
