Title
Approve Parking Restrictions at 99th Avenue NE and Baltimore Street NE
Background
Installation of regulatory stop, no parking and speed limit signs require authorization by City Council. The regulatory signs proposed meet warrants established in the Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices and Minnesota State Statutes. Intersections are reviewed for the type of regulatory sign to install. Stop signs are installed at street intersections with main through streets.
99th Avenue NE and Baltimore Street NE roundabout is designed and will be constructed to State Aid standards that will not allow for on street parking, so No Parking signs need to be authorized by Council to be installed. It is proposed that parking be restricted on 99th Avenue NE from TH65 to Baltimore Street NE, Baltimore Street NE from 94th Lane NE to 99th Lane NE, and on 99th Lane NE from Baltimore Street NE to Davenport Street NE.
Recommendation
By motion, adopt the Resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, the City Council is cognizant of providing regulation of vehicular traffic in a safe and responsible manner; and
WHEREAS, City Ordinance requires a Council Resolution specifying the placement of regulatory signs; and
WHEREAS, the regulatory signs are considered to meet warrants for traffic control established in the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine that regulatory signs are hereby authorized to be installed as follows:
99th Avenue NE
Ø No parking restrictions on 99th Avenue NE from TH 65 to Baltimore Street NE.
Baltimore Street NE
Ø No Parking restrictions on Baltimore Street NE from 94th Lane NE to 99th Lane NE
99th Lane NE
Ø No Parking restrictions on 99th Lane NE from Baltimore Street NE to Davenport Street NE.
