Title
ACCEPT AMENDED ENERGY EFFICIENCY COMMUNITY BLOCK GRANT (EECBG) AND APPROVE EXPENDITURES RELATED TO THE GRANT IMPROVEMENTS
Background
In 2010 the City of Blaine received an EECBG Grant from the Federal Government. The original plan was to do window improvements at Blaine Court Apartments and to develop a revolving loan fund for residential energy efficient improvements. The window improvements have been done at Blaine Courts, however once the City started looking at the revolving loan fund it was determined that it was not feasible to do with the time limitations of the grant funds.
Staff then proposed to repurpose the remaining funds to do energy efficiency improvements to City Hall and to construct a trail from Radisson Road and Naples, north to connect to the Park and Ride facility.
These amendments have been approved and staff is looking for City Council authorization to implement the efficiency improvements to City Hall that are attached. A separate action will be brought forward to order the improvements for the trail project.
Recommendation
By Motion, accept amended Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant and approve expenditures related to the grant improvements.
