RATIFICATION OF LOCAL 49 (PUBLIC WORKS) UNION FOR CONTRACT YEAR 2014 - 2016
Background
The City of Blaine and IUOE (International Union of Operating Engineers) representing Public Works have reached an agreement on the following three-year contract for years 2014 - 2016.

2. We agreed to increase the City’s monthly contribution to the cafeteria plan for the plan year 2014 by $30, making the monthly amount $990. We agreed to increase the City’s monthly contribution to the cafeteria plan for 2015 by $30, which will make the monthly contribution $1,020. A reopener will occur at yearend 2015 in order to discuss the City’s contribution for 2016.
3. We agreed to drop the Columbus Day holiday from the Union Contract and add an additional floating holiday.
Negotiators from the City and IUOE Local 49 have reached tentative agreement on all issues.
Recommendation
By motion, ratify the Public Works contract between the IUOE Local 49 and the City of Blaine for calendar year 2014 - 2016.
