REVIEW OF LEGACY CREEK PARKWAY

Background

The City has received complaints of speeding on Legacy Creek Parkway. 

Traffic counts, vehicle speeds, and accident information were reviewed and are summarized as follows:

•                     Average daily traffic count in 2015 was 382 and in 2016 was 299.  The 85^th percentile speed was 25 mph (85% of vehicles are at or below this speed).

•                     The Police Department set up the speed trailer for a week in June of 2016 and the 85^th percentile speed was 27 mph.

•                     There has been one traffic incident per year over the last 2.5 years on Legacy Creek Parkway.  See the attached incident map.

•                     Legacy Creek Parkway has been built in phases with development and connects from 125^th Avenue to 131^st Avenue.  On the south side of 125^th Avenue, it connects to North Lake Boulevard.  

Recommendation

Take public comment at the next Traffic Commission meeting and by motion, send any recommendations to City Council.
