APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,476.99 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF HARPERS PARK, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 15-06
Background
On August 31, 2015, a contract was awarded to Dunaway Construction in the amount of $124,947.40 for the construction of Harpers Park.
During construction, areas of unsuitable soil were discovered in the trail alignment which required removal and replacement. Additional retaining walls were also required as the final grades changed with the construction of a house on 130th Court. Final quantity measurements exceed some bid quantities and the 10% contingency authorized with contract award; therefore Change Order No. 1 was prepared for Council approval.
Recommendation
By motion, approve Change Order No. 1 to the contract for Improvement Project No 15-06 in the amount of $18,476.99, amending the total contract amount to $143,424.39 and authorizing the Public Services Manager to sign said Change Order No. 1.
