Title
AUTHORIZE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH SRF CONSULTING GROUP, INC. IN A NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $25,000 FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR LEGACY CREEK PARK (IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 12-16)
Background
The Parks and Recreation Department requested a proposal from SRF Consulting Group, Inc. for professional services for topographic survey, conceptual design, and development of construction documents for Legacy Creek Park. The proposal is estimated not to exceed $25,000 which will be funded by Park Development Fund.
Most of the work for Legacy Creek Park has already been done. When the park design work was originally started several years ago, no contract was brought to the Council, either because it was thought to remain under the $10,000 limit or it was missed in the process. Recently, this mistake was spotted and this item does authorize the work.
Several years ago the City went through an RFP process to hire a firm to do design work for our smaller City Parks. SRF was the successful bidder at that time. This is why this is the only proposal for this work.
Recommendation
By motion, authorize City Manager to enter into contract with SRF Consulting Group, Inc. in a not-to-exceed amount of $25,000 in accordance with their proposal dated March 14, 2013 regarding professional services for Legacy Creek Park.
