CAPITAL PURCHASE - 2019 UTILITY TASK VEHICLE (UTV) PURCHASE
Background
In the adoption of the 2019 Capital Budget, Council appropriated the funding for certain pieces of equipment in the Capital Equipment Plan. Pursuant to the City Charter, Sec. 6.05, staff is now requesting City Council approval for the actual purchase of the UTV. Our current UTV is 5+ years old. The number of large events in our city, it is a very useful tool getting around and through crowds especially being able to carry medical equipment to areas unreachable by vehicle. This model has been specifically designed for EMS use and was widely used during the Super Bowl in Minneapolis. The purchase will include emergency lighting, graphics/Set-up/equipment (O2, Defib, medical bag...). The purchase will be made through state contract pricing.
