Background

The City of Blaine received a request on October 23, 2018, from General Pattern Company, requesting temporary removal of parking restrictions on 84^th Lane from West 35W Service Drive to Coral Sea Street in order to allow parking on those streets for their Employee Appreciation Event on December 8, 2018 from 9:00 AM to Noon.  They expect a need for additional parking to accommodate their employees. 

Staff recommends authorization for temporary parking on 84^th Lane from West 35W Service Drive to Coral Sea Street as indicated on the attached map.

City Council authorization is required for the temporary lifting of parking restrictions.  City Council has previously authorized similar temporary lifting of parking restrictions for other businesses for similar appreciation events.

Recommendation

By motion, authorize the temporary removal of parking restrictions on 84^th Lane from West 35W Service Drive to Coral Sea Street, from 9:00 AM to Noon, December 8, 2018.
