VACATION NO. V12-03
 
Background
A petition dated June 21, 2012, was submitted to the City by Bryon Westlund of Woodland Development Corporation requesting vacation of drainage and utility easements. This vacation is being requested to allow for the replatting of the property into Woodland Village 2nd Addition.  The applicant is a single property owner who represents 100% of the affected property abutting this easement.

Recommendation
By motion, approve the Resolution.
 
Body
 
WHEREAS, the City Council has received a petition dated the 21st day of  June, 2012, requesting vacation of drainage and utility easements for Lots 9, 10, 11 & 12, Block 3; Lot 1, Block 5; and Outlot J, Gardenwood Addition and Lot 1, Block 2, Gardenwood 2nd Addition; and
 
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has reviewed the petition and recommends that the City Council hold a Public Hearing on the requested vacation.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:
 
1.       The Council will consider the petitioned vacation of drainage and utility easements for the property owner.
 
2.       A Public Hearing shall be held on the proposed vacation at 8:00 p.m. on the 16th day of August, 2012, and the City Clerk shall give mailed and published notice of such hearing and vacation as required by law.
