APPROVE MASSAGE ENTERPRISE LICENSE FOR DENISE HANSON, D’S THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE, RELOCATING FROM 784 COUNTY ROAD 10 NE TO NORTHTOWN CENTER, 170 89^TH AVENUE NE

Background

Denise Hanson, owner of D’s Therapeutic Massage, is relocating her massage enterprise from 784 County Road 10 NE to 170 89^th Avenue (Northtown Center).  The name of the business will not change.  Ms. Hanson has applied for both a therapeutic massage enterprise license as well as an individual massage therapist license. She has completed the applications and all required documentation.

The Blaine Police Department conducted a full background investigation in 2015 as part of the annual renewal process and found no concerns.  A fire inspection will be completed as part of the Certificate of Occupancy process.  This license, if approved, would be valid for the 2016 calendar year and eligible for renewal in the fall.  Approval of this license would not change the total number of massage enterprise licenses issued in the City, currently at 23 of 24 available licenses. 

Recommendation

By motion, approve D’s Therapeutic Massage Enterprise License for Denise Hanson at new location of Northtown Center, 170 89^th Avenue NE contingent upon a successful fire inspection and Certificate of Occupancy.
