PROCLAMATIONS COMMENDING LARRY CHEN AND HONORARY CITIZEN CEDRIC LEUENBERGER
Background
On September 4, 2017 a foreign exchange student from Switzerland Cedric Leuenberger and Blaine resident Larry Chen kayaked around the 5 small lakes in The Lakes development. Once on shore the weather had suddenly changed to gusty wind and heavy rain. Cedric and Larry spotted two individuals on Sunrise Lake in kayaks that were in obvious need of help. Cedric and Larry went out immediately into the rain and signaled them to row to the dock. The boys helped the couple onto the dock and helped bring their kayaks on shore. They invited the couple inside to dry off and have some hot chocolate and then drove them home. The rescued couple was very appreciative of the boys’ help. The Proclamations commend Larry and Cedric for their compassion and sensible thinking.
