AUTHORIZE PURCHASE ORDER FOR TWO 2016 DUMP TRUCK REPLACEMENTS
Background
At an earlier City Council retreat, staff presented a 2016 budget request to authorize the replacement of two dump trucks with snow plow equipment. The reason for this early request was to take advantage of the 2015 contract pricing. In conversations with the current contract holders, the 2016 prices would increase between 3 and 5%. Those increases would amount to $12,000 to $20,000 savings for both units. The contract price for two units is $398,000.00 which would be expended in 2016.
Recommendation
By Motion, the City Council authorizes purchase orders for replacement of two dump truck plow units to Towmaster and Nuss Truck & Equipment.
