PROCLAMATION - EAGLE SCOUT ERIC STEVEN BYSTROM
Body
WHEREAS, the Blaine City Council wishes to acknowledge the accomplishments of the community's young citizens; and
WHEREAS, Eric S. Bystrom began his scouting career in as a Tiger in Cub Scout Pack 138 in 2000, joined Boy Scout Troop 552 in Blaine in 2005 and achieved Order of Arrow in 2008 while with troop 552 and joined troop 714 in Spring Lake Park in January 2009; and
WHEREAS, Eric has earned 24 merit badges including the following badges: Farm Mechanics, Orienteering, Pioneering, Truck Transportation, Citizenship in the Community, Environmental Science, First Aid, Swimming, Cycling, Music, Emergency Preparedness, Citizenship in the World, Family Life, Snow Sports, Cooking, Motor Boating, Camping, Climbing, Citizenship in the Nation, Personal Management, Personal Fitness, Shotgun Shooting, Signaling, and Communications; and
WHEREAS, Eric devoted many hours to his Eagle Scout Service Project - remodeling the South and West walls of the Spring Lake Park VFW. The month-long project consisted of stripping the old paint from the brick and eventually priming and painting the two walls. Eric also cleaned up the overgrown landscaping, and resealed the gap between the walls and the sidewalk.
WHEREAS, Eric Steven Bystrom will be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on January 12, 2012.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Blaine hereby proclaims Eric Steven Bystrom an outstanding citizen and commends him for his hard work and dedication to the ideals of scouting.
