Title
APPROVE PURCHASE OF LIFT STATION GENERATORS
Background
Lift stations 12 and 13 are among the City's largest waste water lift stations, which are 20 years old. These two lift stations are scheduled for rehabilitation in this year's capital improvement plan. The projects will include new pumps, controls and emergency generators. Both generators will be natural gas fueled, which will reduce maintenance and emissions and require less staff time for refueling. The generators will be purchased from Ziegler under the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), which is a national purchasing agency of which the City of Blaine is a member of. The cost of the generators is $40,184.00 a piece. The generators as well as the remainder of the rehab will be funded from the Sanitary Sewer Fund.
Recommendation
By motion, award the purchase of two (2) emergency lift station generators to Ziegler Power Systems through NJPA for $80,368.00, funded from the Sanitary Sewer Fund.
