Title
AUTHORIZE TEMPORARY REMOVAL OF PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON CLOVERLEAF PARKWAY FOR A DISTANCE OF 500 FEET EAST OF POLK STREET FOR A FUNDRAISER CRAFT/BAKE SALE ON NOVEMBER 3, 2012

Background
On September 28, 2012, the City of Blaine received a letter from Jeanne Thompson, Cloverleaf Courts Housing Administrator, requesting the temporary removal of parking restrictions on Cloverleaf Parkway east of Polk Street on Saturday, November 3, 2012.  Cloverleaf Courts is hosting a craft/bake sale on that date to benefit their senior residents and expect a need for additional parking near their driveway entrance on Cloverleaf Parkway.  Over the past several years, City Council has authorized the temporary lifting of restrictions for previous fundraiser garage sales for Cloverleaf Courts.  City Council authorization is required for temporary lifting of parking restrictions for this event.

Recommendation
By motion, authorize the temporary removal of parking restrictions on the north side of Cloverleaf Parkway for a distance of 500 feet east of Polk Street in order to allow parking on Cloverleaf Parkway from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012.
