AUTHORIZING PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $31,823 TO THE LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES FOR 2017 ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES
Background
The League of Minnesota Cities is a membership organization dedicated to promoting excellence in local government. The League provides services such as advocacy, education and training, policy development, and risk management. The League of Minnesota Cities also provides insurance to the City of Blaine as part of its membership.
Membership dues are calculated based on population for their fiscal year beginning September 1, 2016. For cities with populations of 50,000-299,999 dues are $23,900 plus $0.1254 per capita. This year’s dues represent a 3.5% increase from 2016.
Recommendation
By motion, authorize the payment in the amount of $31,823.00 to the League of Minnesota Cities for 2016 annual membership dues.
