AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 54, PARKS AND RECREATION; ARTICLE I, IN GENERAL, SECTION 54-1, PARK LAND DESIGNATED, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BLAINE
Background
The City Council has adopted an ordinance requiring that all park and open space land be designated as permanent park and open space land by the City Council and cannot be removed from this designation except by approval of 51% of those voting on the question at a regular municipal election. The following parks and parcels are proposed for designation as parkland.
Parks designated are:
• East Lake Park
• Legacy Creek Park
Parcels designated in existing parks are:
• .42 acre parcel land locked on west side of Eastside Park
• .63 acre parcel connecting north portion of Happy Acres Park to 121st Avenue
• .44 acre parcel connecting south portion of Jim Peterson Athletic Complex to 122nd Circle

(a.) The following land shall be designated as park land pursuant to the Chapter of the City of Blaine, Chapter 12, Miscellaneous and Transitory provisions, Section 12.05, Sales of Real Property.
