Title
ACCEPTING DONATION FROM BLAINE YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,000 FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS ON THE HAPPY ACRES PARK ICE RESURFACING MACHINE (ZAMBONI).

Background
The ice resurfacing machine at Happy Acres Park was originally used by Fogerty Arena in 1982 until 1999.  In 2000, through an agreement with the City and Blaine Youth Hockey Association (BYHA), the Zamboni found a new home at Happy Acres Park to provide outdoor ice maintenance for 3 hockey rinks and general rink.  Annual maintenance and care from city staff has helped the Zamboni perform admirably for the last 11 years.

However, the Zamboni is now in need of an auger and tires in the amount of $3,000 to continue ice resurfacing for the upcoming outdoor skating season.  Since BYHA is the largest organized user of Happy Acres Park for practices and games, staff inquired if they were interested in donating the amount of $3,000 for the parts and they agreed.

Staff is recommending City Council accept the donation of the $3,000 from BYHA for Zamboni parts.

Recommendation
By motion, accept donation from Blaine Youth Hockey Association in the amount of $3,000 for replacement parts on the Happy Acres Park Ice Resurfacing Machine (Zamboni).
