Background
Bids were received at 10:00 AM, July 24, 2018, for Project No. 18-08. A total of three bids were received ranging from $197,428 to $259,770.30. The bids received are as follows:

Due to the bids being substantially higher than the engineer estimate, it is recommended that the bids be rejected, the bid bonds returned to the bidders, and the project re-bid at a later date.

By motion, adopt the resolution.

WHEREAS, pursuant to advertisement for bids for Improvement Project No. 18-08, said bids were received on July 24, 2018, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement:

AND WHEREAS, the bids are substantially higher than the engineer’s estimate for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Blaine as follows:
1. The three bids are hereby rejected and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith the bid bonds submitted by the bidders.
