PROCLAMATION - LOREN FREITAG

WHEREAS, the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department is the largest volunteer fire department in Anoka and Ramsey Counties and second largest in the State of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, it is the privilege of Blaine citizens to recognize the public service of Loren L. Freitag who joined the Spring Lake Park-Blaine-Mounds View Fire Department on February 1, 1994, as a volunteer firefighter; and
WHEREAS, Loren was a key member of the Fire Department and during his tenure, served as Fire Motor Operator, Grievance Committee, and Personal Committee, and
WHEREAS, Loren was certified at the Firefighter I, II level, Apparatus Operator III, First Responder and
WHEREAS, Fire Motor Operator Loren completed numerous specialized training courses and seminars about various areas of firefighting, including administration and leadership, command and control of incident operations, Loren has also attended the National Fire Academy; and
WHEREAS, during his years of service, Loren responded to more than 2201 fire calls and attended over 701 weekly drills. He received several commendations in recognition of his commitment to fire protection and the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Blaine acknowledges, with sincere appreciation, the dedicated and loyal service of Fire Motor Operator Loren who retired on March 4, 2012 after 18 years of service to the citizens of our City.
