Title
APPROVE A THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE ENTERPRISE LICENSE
FOR THERAPEUTIC SPA, 748 CO. ROAD 10 NE
Background
In November 2011 the Police Chief, City Clerk and City Attorney drafted an ordinance to regulate massage therapy enterprises. This ordinance repealed the former Massage Parlor Ordinance.
On April 19, 2012 the City Council approved the new ordinance requiring all massage therapy enterprises be licensed. The ordinance became effective May 19, 2012.
The owner, Xue Feng Chen, of Therapeutic Spa, 748 County Road 10 NE, has submitted an application for a Massage Enterprise license. All required documentation, license fee and a background investigation fee has been received. The Blaine Police Department conducted a background investigation on the enterprise and found nothing to prohibit issuance of this license.
This license is effective for the 2013 calendar year and renewable in the fall of 2013.
Recommendation
By motion, approve a 2013 Therapeutic Massage Enterprise license for Therapeutic Spa, 748 County Road 10 NE, Blaine.
