Title
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF TAX FORFEITED PARCELS IN THE CITY OF BLAINE

Background
At the May 3rd City Council meeting the City Council authorized the application for conditional use deeds for purchasing five (5) tax forfeit parcels in the City that the City has previously indicated a desire to retain.

Anoka County has had a slight change of plans and is now asking that the City instead purchase three parcels outright from the County instead of applying for the conditional use deed from the State of Minnesota.

These three parcels are:  a parcel that contains a trail that accesses Jim Peterson Athletic Park, and two parcels that are actually part of the right of way for 113th Ave.

Because Anoka County wants us to purchase these parcels we need another resolution authorizing the purchase of these lots for $100.00 per parcel.

Recommendation
Adopt the resolution authorizing purchase of Tax Forfeited Parcels in the City of Blaine.

Body

WHEREAS, The Blaine City Council has previously indicated interest in acquiring the tax forfeited parcels listed below to be used for public purposes; and

WHEREAS, It has been determined that purchasing these parcels is a better option than obtaining a conditional use deed; and

WHEREAS, The tax forfeited parcels are being used or will be used for authorized public purposes; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Blaine City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of the following tax forfeited parcels for $100 per parcel:
