Title
APPROVE TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES OF PARK DRIVE AND TOWN SQUARE DRIVE FOR WORLD FEST
Background
World Fest is an annual event sponsored by the City Parks and Recreation Department. To help facilitate a safe environment for festival goers, it is proposed to close Park Drive and a portion of Town Square Drive in front of City Hall for the event. The closure will be from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on September 20, 2014. A detour will be posted to facilitate through traffic. The Parks Department will coordinate the closure with the City's Public Works Department and Public Safety Department. A map showing the proposed closures and detours is attached.
Recommendation
By motion, approve the Resolution.
Body
WHEREAS, the Blaine City Council is cognizant of providing regulation of vehicular traffic in a safe and responsible manner, and
WHEREAS, the City Ordinance requires a City Resolution authorizing the temporary closure of public roads, and
WHEREAS, the temporary closure will not adversely affect traffic safety,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Blaine City Council as follows:
1. A temporary road closure is hereby authorized to be on Park Drive and Town Square Drive from 108th Lane to the South, for World Fest between the hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, September 20, 2014.
