CONSENT AGENDA - Jean M. Keely, City Engineer
Title
AUTHORIZE INSTALLATION OF FIVE TON PER AXLE WEIGHT RESTRICTION SIGNAGE ON XYLITE STREET AND 95TH AVENUE
Background
City Council discussed the posting of weight restrictions on Xylite Street and 95th Avenue, south east of the airport, at their November 13, 2014 Council Workshop. Council directed staff to bring a Council item to them in the spring of 2015 that would authorize installation of five ton per axle weight restriction signage.
At the same Council Workshop in November, Council asked staff to bring a Council item for a three way stop on Rice Creek Parkway at Kane Park. Staff will be performing traffic counts at several intersections on Rice Creek Parkway and will bring forward a traffic study to the May 7, 2015 City Council meeting on if warrants are met for any of the intersections.
Installation of regulatory stop, yield, no parking and weight restriction signs requires authorization by City Council. The regulatory signs proposed meet the standards listed in the Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices - 2B.59.
Recommendation
By motion, adopt the Resolution.
