AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA CITIES INSURANCE TRUST FOR A CLAIM SETTLEMENT
Background
The City has been billed by the League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust (LMCIT), our liability insurance provider, for $25,000. This is relative to a legal action taken against the City of Blaine. Our payment of this is in no way an admission that the City has done anything wrong. It is a simple business decision which contemplates the cost of a legal challenge to this claim or paying this settlement. It is in the best financial interest of the City of Blaine to accept this settlement.
Recommendation
By motion, authorize payment of $25,000 to LMCIT.
