Executive Summary

The Safety Services Department is seeking approval to purchase the 2023 Capital Equipment items listed below. This includes purchases from both the Police and Community Standards divisions.

Background

In the adoption of the 2023 Capital Budget, on December 5, 2022, Council appropriated funding for certain pieces of equipment in the Capital Equipment Plan. Additionally, the Facilities Capital Improvement Program is included for consideration on the December 19 Council agenda and requests appropriations for facilities equipment. Pursuant to the City Charter, Sec. 6.05, staff is now requesting Council approval for the purchase of the items listed below. The items will be purchased from various vendors using the State Cooperative Purchasing Program. The unit cost prices below reflect prices from the state cooperative. Due to the ordering process for these items and to avoid delivery dates late into the year, it is necessary to make specific purchases as close to the beginning of the year as possible.
