Title
APPROVAL OF CLASSIFICATION AND SALE OF TAX FORFEIT PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF BLAINE
Background
The Anoka County Board is commissioned by statute to offer for sale tax forfeit properties in the county. The County Board approved Resolution No. 2014-144 on November 25, 2014, classifying certain tax forfeit lands in Anoka County, specifically two parcels in Blaine.
Should the City desire to acquire either of these parcels of land, a request must be filed within sixty (60) days of the County's notification, specifically by February 3, 2015. The County Board will then withhold the parcel from sale for six (6) months. If the City fails to acquire the property within the withholding period, the County may offer if for sale upon expiration of the withholding period.
After review with the City Engineer, the City is requesting that the following parcels be withheld from public sale:
PIN 09-31-23-13-0047 is a parcel that the City is interested in ownership for storm drainage purposes.
PIN 14-31-23-42-0002 is a parcel that the City is interested in ownership for storm drainage purposes.
The Special Assessment Clerk has completed a search on the parcels listed above and there were no special assessments found.
Recommendation
By motion, authorize approval of the classification and sale to the City of Blaine of the above tax forfeit properties pursuant to M.S. ยง282.01, Subd. 1.
