Title
APPROVE PAYMENT OF $43,182.00 TO BERGERSON-CASWELL, INC. FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO WELL #3
Background
In December 2017, staff detected a failure in the level sensors and pump of Well #3. Well #3 is used year round to feed Treatment Plant 1 and so it was necessary to investigate the issues immediately. Upon inspection it was found that the sensor had broken loose from the cables and that the pump shaft was also broken. At this stage the equipment could not be reinstalled and an emergency repair was necessary.
Funds for redevelopment of Wells 3 & 4 were appropriated in the 2017 budget. Capital Improvement Project 17-18: Well 3 & 4 Redevelopment had not yet been started when the failure occurred. This work will complete a portion of that project.
Recommendation
By motion, approve payment of $43,182.00 to Bergerson-Caswell Inc. for emergency repairs to Well #3, charged to Project 17-18 Well 3 & 4 Redevelopment.
