ANOKA COUNTY PROJECT UPDATES
Background
Anoka County Highway Department will be present to discuss the following issues and project updates with the City Council:
§ County turnback of 105th Avenue (CR 87) to the City
§ Proposed realignment of 109th Avenue (CSAH 12) and Sunset Avenue (CR 52)
§ Park & ride lot on Paul Parkway and Ulysses Street
§ University Avenue (CSAH 51) reconstruction in 2014/15
§ Proposed intersection at Restwood Road and Lake Drive (CSAH 23): ACHD has been working on Lake Drive improvements with the City of Lexington. One of the proposed improvements is a new signalized intersection at Restwood Road and Lake Drive. Since a corner of Blaine touches Lake Drive right of way in this location and half of Restwood Road is in the City of Blaine, the County contacted the City about possible cost participation for this new intersection. Staff does not see a benefit to Blaine residents in the area as there is already a signalized intersection at Lake Drive and Naples Street that serves our City. Staff asked the County to explain the proposed project to the City Council to see if there is interest in participating in the project.
