Background
The Blaine Festival is an annual event bringing in large crowds from the City of Blaine and surrounding communities. The majority of the 2013 festival will take place in the open space and parking lot areas east of the Mary Ann Young Senior Center and just west of Hwy. 65. To help facilitate a safe environment for festival goers, it is proposed to close a portion of Central Ave. just south of Village Bank leading into the senior center area of Aquatore Park. Signs along Cloverleaf Parkway will lead festival goers to Lincoln Street and into the Aquatore Park area where parking lots will be marked by signs. It is also proposed to close a portion of the senior center parking lot just south and west of the senior center. This area will be reserved for handicap parking. A map showing the proposed closure locations is attached.
The proposed closure would be from June 28, 4:30 p.m. - June 30, 6:00 p.m.
