Title

AUTHORIZE INSTALLATION OF REGULATORY SIGNS

Background

Installation of regulatory stop, yield and no parking signs requires authorization by City Council.  The City received a request from a resident to consider changing the existing yield sign to a stop sign on north bound Duke Drive at Paul Parkway.  Stop signs are typically the regulatory sign installed on street intersections with main through streets and the south bound leg of Duke Drive already has a stop sign at Paul Parkway. This change in regulatory signs makes sense in this location and meets warrants established in the Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

Recommendation

By motion, adopt the Resolution.

Body

WHEREAS, the City Council is cognizant of providing regulation of vehicular traffic in a safe and responsible manner; and

WHEREAS, City Ordinance requires a Council Resolution specifying the placement of regulatory signs; and

WHEREAS, this regulatory sign change is considered to meet warrants for traffic control established in the Minnesota Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Blaine that this regulatory sign change is hereby authorized to be installed as follows:
