MAYORAL APPOINTMENT AND COUNCIL CONFIRMATION
TO FILL A TWO YEAR TERM ON THE
PLANNING COMMISSION IN WARD 2.
Background
Due to the 2012 Redistricting, a vacancy for a two-year term (April 2013 - March 2015) exists on the Planning Commission in Ward 2
Staff had advertised this past winter for open seats on the Planning Commission in the local newspapers, the city web site, local cable television and the Public Notice board at city hall. Two former applicants expressed an interest in serving on the Planning Commission in Ward 2. These two applicants were interviewed back in 2012 and Council recently reviewed their applications in May.
Based upon Councils' review of the applicant's applications, the Mayor is announcing his appointment and the Council will be confirming the appointment of Daniel Ryan York at the same meeting. This will allow the newly appointed Planning Commission member to attend the June Planning Commission meeting and an opportunity to receive an orientation from the Planning Commission Director prior to the his first meeting.
The newly confirmed appointee will receive his Oath of Office prior to or at the Planning Commission meeting which will be held on June 25, 2013.
