ACCEPT QUOTE FROM KEVIN CASEY LLC IN THE AMOUNT OF $45,411.00 FOR MEADOWBROOK PARK CULVERT REPLACEMENT, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 15-08
Background
Two culverts which lie under the trails in Meadowbrook Park are failing and have created settlements and buckling of the trail which could be a hazard to pedestrians. One of the culverts lies in Ditch 60, the other lies on a private branch of the ditch. The proposed project will involve replacement of the failing culverts and repaving a portion of the trail.
The Engineering Department requested quotes from five contractors for replacement of the Meadowbrook Park culvert.

Kevin Casey LLC submitted the lowest responsible quote. The Engineering Department has worked previously with Kevin Casey LLC and recommends that the City Council accept their quote to perform the work.
City Council is also asked to approve a 10% contingency ($4,541.00) to bring the total project budget to $49,952.00.
The funding source for this project is the storm water utility fund and there are sufficient funds to cover these costs.
Recommendation
By motion, authorize City Manager to accept the quote from Kevin Casey LLC in the amount of $45,411.00 for the Meadowbrook Park culvert replacement project and authorize a 10% contingency ($4,541.00) allowing the Public Services Manager to approve via the change order process.
