AUTHORIZE FINAL PAYMENT TO BARBER CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TENNIS AND BASKETBALL COURT AT AURELIA PARK IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 13-17
Background
On October 3, 2013, City Council authorized a contract with Barber Construction, Inc., with a ten percent contingency, in the amount of $68,740.87 to install a combined tennis court and basketball court at Aurelia Park. A summary of the final costs is as follows:
Authorized Contract Amount $68,740.87
Final Contract Amount $74,340.50
The final contract amount represents an eight percent increase over the authorized contract amount and is due to changing the height of the tennis court fencing, adding pickle ball markings and field measured final quantities. Acceptance of the work and approval of final payment in the amount of $33,125.42 to the contractor is recommended.
