Title

AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH CONNEXUS ENERGY IN THE AMOUNT OF $255,500 TO INSTALL STREET LIGHTS ALONG 105TH AVENUE, IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. 14-11

Background

As part of the 105th Avenue reconstruction project, landscaping and lighting are included in the project budget.  Staff requested a lighting layout and cost proposal from Connexus Energy to provide lighting for the 105th Avenue corridor from TH65 to Radisson Road.  The proposal includes two different fixture types, the shoe box fixture to light the roadway and the Domus Style fixture to light the trail, sidewalk, and both crosswalks.  For reference a fixture catalog has been attached showing both fixture types along with the proposed light location layout.  Staff has received an invoice for the proposed work from Connexus Energy to install street lights along 105th Avenue in the amount of $255,500.  The proposal includes total material and labor.

The cost to install lighting of the 105th Avenue corridor from TH65 to Radisson Road is included in the overall project budget and will be funded through the City’s Municipal State Aid funds, Pooled TIF, and State Bonding.
