Title
AWARD CONTRACT FOR INSPECTION OF WELLS 8, 11, AND 16 TO BERGERSON-CASWELL INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $34,000.00
Background
The City of Blaine is requesting quotes for inspection work on three of the City’s water supply wells. The inspection work shall generally include the following items:
• Well pump and motor removal;
• Motor testing;
• Well cleaning;
• Televising and evaluating the well;
• Well pump reinstallation; and
• Well and pump disinfection
At the conclusion of each inspection, bidder shall provide a report summarizing any recommended repair activities, and indicate any critical item that may cause catastrophic imminent failure. The report will be used to determine well repair and rehabilitation tasks that will be completed within the next 2-3 years.
Quotes were requested of the three major well drilling and inspection companies serving the twin cities area.

Bergerson-Caswell Inc. $34,000.00
Keyes Well Drilling Co. $39,250.00
Traut Companies Declined due to current workload
Recommendation
Authorize the Mayor and City Manager to award contract to Bergerson-Caswell Inc. for inspection of Wells 8, 11, and 16 in the amount of $34,000.00.
