Executive Summary
The current federal lobbying services contract with The Ferguson Group (TFG) is set to expired on December 31 and is renewable at the same rate of $5,000 per month for 2023.
Background
The 2023 contract will provide federal advocacy services for TH65, complete items listed on the developed federal agenda, provide grant funding services, and provide other ongoing advocacy services as necessary. City Council discussed the services provided by TFG at the December 19, 2022 workshop and expressed support for moving forward with a new agreement for 2023.
Strategic Plan Relationship
Federal Lobbying services are focused on various priorities in the City’s Strategic Plan, with the top priority given to securing funds for the TH65 project.

Financial Impact
Funding for this service was included in the adopted 2023 general fund budget. As the total for the year will exceed $50,000, City Council approval is required. (Since the 2022 contract was not for a full year, the amount was under $50,000.)

Staff Recommendation
By motion approve the 2023 contract with The Ferguson Group at the rate of $5,000 per month for a yearly total of $60,000. A maximum of $2,500 in reimbursable travel expenses is also included in the contract if necessary making the contract total $62,500.
