Title

ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FROM ST. CROIX RECREATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $120,000 FOR PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AND SHELTER AT SANCTUARY PRESERVE PARK

Background

RFP’s were sent out to St. Croix Recreation, Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground and Landscape Structures for new playground equipment and a shelter at Sanctuary Preserve Park. The budget for the equipment and shelter was $120,000 to all three companies. A list of items that needed to be included in the proposal was included along with the size of the play area. Each company had their chance to show us their best design for the equipment.

Once the proposals, were received, staff met with Pulte Homes, developer of Sanctuary Preserve Park, and also visited a couple of parks that had similar equipment.   Pulte Homes has purchased playground equipment for some of their other developments and liked the design by St. Croix Recreation.

On February 27th staff brought the designs to the Park Board for approval and they also recommended the St. Croix Recreation design.

Recommendation

Accept the recommendation from the Park Board and staff to approve the St. Croix Recreation playground design for $120,000 for the Sanctuary Preserve Park.
