Title
APPOINTING TASK FORCE TO CONSIDER CONSTRUCTION OF A COMMUNITY CENTER IN CITY OF BLAINE
 
Background
At the April 10th  Council Workshop, the City Council had some additional discussion on a possible Community Center in the City of Blaine.  The direction from that discussion was to appoint a Citizen Task Force to look at the possibility of a Community Center.
 
Attached is a list of residents who have indicated a willingness to serve on a Task Force for the City Council's consideration.
 
Recommendation
By motion, approve resolution.
 
Body
WHEREAS, residents and various athletic associations have approached the City to build a Community Center to offer additional recreational amenities to the City; and
 
WHEREAS,  the City Council  is looking for the residents and organizations to lead the efforts to look at the possibility of building a Community Center in the City of Blaine; and
 
WHEREAS,  the City Council feels the best way to get involvement from residents is to create a Community Center Task Force to look at the possibility of building a Community Center; and
 
      NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Blaine City Council appoints the attached list of residents to the Blaine Community Center Task Force.
