APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $74,163 FOR IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NOS. 13-10 AND 14-08
Background
On December 18, 2014, a contract was awarded to Municipal Builders, Inc. in the amount of $446,279 for Lift Stations 8 and 12 by Council Resolution No. 14-242. Work on Lift Station No. 13 was not included in the original contract as the alternate bid was too expensive. We have worked with the contractor and through value engineering were able to revise the proposed work and agree to an amount to complete the work to Lift Station 13, which includes a back-up generator and new control panel. This amount is over the 10% Council approved contract amount. Change Order No. 1 will increase the contract amount by $74,163.
Recommendation
By motion, approve Change Order No. 1 to the contract for Improvement Project Nos. 13-10 and 14-08 in the amount of $74,163, amending the total contract amount to $520,442, and authorizing the Public Services Manager to sign said Change Order No. 1.
