ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FOR REPLACEMENT PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,000 FROM ST. CROIX RECREATION FOR CLOVERLEAF PARK

Background

Cloverleaf Park Playground equipment is 20 years old and is need of replacement.  The cost of this playground with installation, concrete border, and wood fibar will be $60,000.  The funds for this playground will come from the Capital Improvement Fund interest that the City Council approved for improvements of parks in the amount of $200,000 a year over the next three years.

Proposals were submitted by three different playground vendors which staff gave the same parameters which included; playground equipment, wood fibar, concrete border, and installation with a budget of $60,000.

The Park Board reviewed all three proposals and has recommended the St. Croix Recreation proposal for City Council approval.  If approved, playground installation will be completed by late May of this year.

Attached is the design and detail of the playground.

Recommendation

By motion, accept the proposal from St. Croix Recreation for playground equipment purchase, wood fibar, concrete border and installation at Cloverleaf Park in the amount not to exceed $60,000.
