Recommendation of a proposal from Flagship Recreation for the installation of a Shelter at Eastside Park in the amount not to exceed $40,000
end
Background
The tennis court at Eastside Park needs to be removed due to poor soil conditions. A letter was sent to the residents in the vicinity of Eastside Park informing them that the city would be removing the tennis court this year. The letter stated that the tennis court would be replaced with a picnic shelter. Feedback from the residents was received and most favored the shelter, except in a different location within the park. The 2022 Parks and Trails Capital Improvement Fund Budget has appropriated $40,000 for this improvement. The vision for the shelter is to provide a gathering space for the neighborhood to enjoy.
Staff, under the cooperative purchasing contract of U.S. Communities Government Alliance (USGA) would utilize the USGA pricing structure and purchase the shelter manufactured by Icon and supplied by Flagship Recreation.
Attached is the specification sheet for the Eastside Park shelter.
