Background
The May Council Retreat discussion will center on the strategic development of the 2022 property tax levy and General Fund budget with the intended outcome of providing staff with specific strategic initiatives to consider for inclusion in the 2022 budget.
Staff will provide information on the following topics:
• Property Tax Model - Review the model with most current tax base information; review guiding principles to be used in developing the levy.
• General Fund Revenue - Strategic development of non-property tax revenue.
• Staffing outlook - review five-year staffing projection.
• Strategic Plan - Incorporating strategic priorities and initiatives into the budget
• Strategic Priorities Fund - how the Strategic Priorities Fund could be used in the annual budgeting process
Staff Recommendation
Review data and information presented and discuss City Council priorities and initiatives.
