CONSENT AGENDA- Jon Haukaas, Director of Public Works
Title
ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL FOR COLD STORAGE SHELTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $51,375 FROM GREYSTONE CONSTRUCTION
Background
The Public Works Department requested proposals to Furnish and Install a 40’ x 48’ Fabric Covered Shelter at the City’s Xylite Street property. The shelter will be used to store and protect street sweepings prior to treatment and disposal. Pollution protection requirements dictate that the sweepings be covered and protected to minimize erosion.
After a project advertising process, one quote was submitted from Greystone Construction, Shakopee, MN, in the amount of $51,375.00. The estimate for the shelter building was $54,500.00. The City will have additional expenses for ancillary professional services such as soil borings and testing, as well as staff or material resources for bituminous removal and replacement, and site preparation. Funding for the shelter will be Storm Water Utility; $75,000 was budgeted in 2019 and $50,000 in 2020.
The City has worked with Greystone Construction on previous projects and the Public Works Department recommends accepting their quote.
Recommendation
By motion, accept the quote from Greystone Construction in the amount of $51,375.00 to furnish and install a fabric covered shelter building.
