WORKSHOP ITEM - Jon Haukaas, Director of Public Works
Title
93rd AVENUE/I35W SERVICE DRIVE SEWER REPAIR UPDATE #3
Background
Staff will present the City Council with an update on progress toward the final repair of the collapsed sewer at the intersection of 93rd Avenue and the I35W Service Drive.
Staff will provide pictures of the work to date, a revised construction schedule, and costs incurred so far and estimated costs for completion.
All properties continue to have full water and sewer utility service. Staff are on-site monitoring the bypass pumps 24/7 to immediately respond if unforeseen problems occur.
The sheet piling for access and construction protection is complete and the contractor has excavated the first stage. Soil stabilization ‘tie-backs’ were installed and dewatering for the stage two excavation has begun.
A separate agenda item will be on the regular meeting agenda to extend the period of a Council-declared local emergency for this repair work.
Recommendation
This item is informational. Staff will answer question and continue to keep the City Council apprised of schedule and costs as the repairs are completed.
