Title

A RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING SALE AND/OR DISPOSAL THEREOF

Background

A number of City equipment and vehicles are replaced annually as it is determined that each piece has reached its useful life or has become too expensive to continue to maintain.  Vehicles are typically transferred to other departments or secondary services whenever possible initially.  This program has provided great benefit to the City by controlling costs of purchasing new vehicles for uses that are intermittent or seasonal.  When that is no longer viable or no secondary use is found, vehicles are disposed of per City Administrative Policy 2.01 - Disposal of Surplus Tangible Property.

Public Works staff has reviewed our inventory and determined there are several vehicles that are no longer useful to the City and recommend that they be designated as surplus property by the City Council in order to dispose of per Policy.

The identified equipment recommended for disposal includes:

2003 Ford F150 4x4 Supercab

2003 Ford F250 4x4 Pickup W/ Plow

2003 Ford Ranger

2002 Ford Ranger

1999 Ford Ranger

Financial Impacts

Any revenue realized with the sale of this property shall be placed in the Capital Equipment Fund for future appropriation by the City Council.

Recommendation

By Motion, adopt the Resolution.
