REVIEW SPEED LIMIT ON OLD RADISSON ROAD FROM CLOUD DRIVE TO 124^TH LANE

Background

The city received an email request to review the speed limit on Radisson Road from Cloud Drive to 124^th Lane.  This is the old stretch of county road that was turned back to the city when the new Radisson Road, CSAH 52, was constructed on a new alignment. 

Since the turn back of this segment of roadway there have been several homes constructed that front Radisson Road.  The characteristics of the neighborhood now fall into a category know as or defined as an urban district.  As such the speed limit could be placed at 30mph without conducting a speed study.  Currently, this remnant piece of Radisson Road is posted at 35mph.

Recommendation

Have staff prepare a resolution for city council to declare an Urban District on Radisson Road from Cloud Drive to 124^th Lane and to set the speed limit at 30mph.
